Sirtuins and Medicine for tomorrow: The promising Target

Sirtuins are a unique class of proteins that link protein acetylation to metabolism and exert profound effects on mammalian physiology. Sirtuins have been implicated in metabolic diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases, constituting a promising target for drug discovery.

Many recent studies found that Sirtuins could contribute to mechanisms of human longevity and avoid or delay the onset of age-associated disorders.

Targeting Mitochondria 2011 will be the best occasion to gather all specialists to clarify the huge amount of information and confront the different school of thoughts.

We will discuss also the future of sirtuins as a promising strategy and target for drugs discovery.
